In 2020, the oldest annual swimming marathon in Bulgaria – Galata-Varna, celebrates its 80th anniversary.
This event is a recognized sports emblem of the sea capital, which every summer attracts dozens of swimmers from the country and abroad who dare to compete in overcoming the 4-kilometer distance.
As the main organizer of the event, the Municipality of Varna has always worked with the idea that events of this scale should be supported and developed to encourage sports and love for the sea. It is remarkable that with every edition the marathon attracts more and more participants and friends of swimming, and the event becomes an unique Varna holiday for young and old.
