A breathtaking performance with the kaba bagpipes enchanted the participants and spectators at the 7th edition of the 1000 x 1000 swimming festivalon the South Beach in Varna.The bagpipe wizards from the “Emona” formation gave the guests incredibly beautiful authentic melodies from Bulgaria’s folklore treasury.

The rich musical ornamentation and poetic emotionality woven into their performance took fans of swimming magic to the lands of the angelic Thracian singer Orpheus.

The magical performance of the “Emona” formation was the special surprise for the participants and guests of the 1000 x 1000, presented to them by the founder of the general sponsor Lucky Hunt, Svetlana Hunt.

The event, which has become an emblem of the summer in Varna, is not competitive, and is traditionally held on the South Beach.150 people participated.The idea for the swim came from the chairman of the board of the Bulgarian swimming champion PSC “Black Sea” Philip Rombaut, CEO of “Agropolihim”.

The organizers of the 1000 x 1000 are the Bulgarian Navy, Varna Municipality and PSC “Black Sea”, and the program is created by the general sponsor of the event, the Lucky Hunt Foundation.The holiday is being held with the exceptional assistance of the beach concessionaire “Lazurenbryag 91” and “Volunteers with Inspiration”.

The folklore program on the South Beach was further enriched by the brilliant musicians and dancers from the “Veselie” quartet, Town of Suvorovo – headHristinaValcheva, accordionist – Ivan Doctorov, and their colleagues from the “Kolevi” dance school.

Following an old Bulgarian tradition, after finishing, the participants were greeted by the lovely ladies from the Lucky Hunt team with freshly kneaded breads and patterned salt.

After giving themselves an unforgettable dose of adrenaline, the participants in the 1000 x 1000 were looking forward to the surprises of the traditional raffle.
