The online registration for the Galata – Varna swimming marathon will be extended, the event organizers announced.
Due to the great interest in the marathon, everyone who wishes to participate will be able to register online at varnamaraton.info until 8:00 AM on July 24, 2025.
This summer, the traditional swim will take place on Sunday, July 27. The event is organized by Bulgaria’s swimming champion club PSK “Cherno More”, the Bulgarian Navy, and the Municipality of Varna.
The start is from the Karantinata area at Cape Galata, and the finish is at Officer’s Beach – East. All participants must gather on July 27 at 6:30 AM at the meeting point – Karantinata Fishing Port in the Asparuhovo district.
Swimmers are required to bring suitable bags or backpacks to store their personal belongings.
The straight-line distance from Cape Galata to Officer’s Beach – East is approximately 4,500 m.
The swim will start at 9:00 AM.
The finish line of the marathon will be on the north side of Breakwater 102 (Second Breakwater) on the beach and will be marked with an arch on the shore.
To make it easier for participants, this year the organizers are once again providing buses to transport swimmers to the starting point — the first bus will depart at 6:45 AM, and the last one at 8:00 AM from the bus stop near the Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral.
