A family of adventurers from Varna, who have traveled to over 60 countries around the world, will swim in the Galata – Varna marathon for the 14th year in a row.
The life of the attractive Bulgarian Venkovi family is like a necklace of precious stones that sparkle in the brightest colors.All four – Zhivko, Ralitsa, Annabel and Rein, are avid mountaineers, passionate travelers and conquerors of peaks.The family’s trademark is exotic travels around the world.
Every summer the family, who lives in England, returns to their hometown, the sea capital of Bulgaria, because of their participation in the marathon.
“We are returning with great excitement and a desire to immerse ourselves again and again in this magnificent emotion – the Galata – Varna marathon”, commented the family members. Zhivko and Ralitsa and their wonderful children Annabelle and Rein can only be an example to us of how to train our willpower and conquer dreams – both literally and figuratively!
Sometimes all together, sometimes only the head of the family climbs mountain peaks in different corners of the world.In their homeland, Bulgaria, they climbed the Musala, Vihren, Botev and Maliovitsa peaks.The whole family climbs Mount Kilimanjaro, which rises to a height of 5895 m.At that time, the boy Rain was only 10 years old, and his sister Annabelle was two years older than him.
Their collection also includes the peaks – Bretthorn (4164 m), Fuji (3776 m), Mont Blanc, which they climbed to 4200 m, but unfortunately, due to bad weather, the mission was aborted.And also – Gran Paradiso (4061 m) and the majestic Aconcagua.
Zhivko swims vigorously and always finishes in the traditional Galata – Varna marathon since 2009.In recent years in the company of his son Rain.
The kid has been a member of Mensa since 2017. And his tests show that only 1% of the Earth’s population has such a high IQ!It is curious to note that people’s ages are not taken into account!Rein’s dad definitely doesn’t just like sea marathons, he’s also tempted by land ones.The indisputable proof – he walks 100 km in 21 hours from London to Brighton.
This year, Zhivko will swim the marathon for the 14th time.And he is adamant that he will attack an even better time than the one he clocked during his last year’s participation.
In 2024, on the eve of Galata – Varna, the attractive family has sealed a lot of travel memories. “We have been to India, Dubai, Singapore and the Maldives.We will be back in Singapore again in October – we love it!Extremely beautiful, peaceful and safe place.People have hearts of gold, exceptional!We are also planning a trip to Australia,” says Ralitsa.Travelers are frank that they fell in love with the Taj Mahal from the moment they found themselves in one of the seven wonders of the world – the emblematic mausoleum symbolizing the fairy-tale beauty of the emperor Shah Jahan’s favorite – Mumtaz Mahal. Dubai is said to be unearthly beautiful, a corner of another dimension, with stunning architecture.
“If someone asks us how we imagine paradise, we will answer without hesitation that it is the Maldives!We have visited them many times over the years, but we still can’t get enough of them”, the residents of Varna are frank.
