Connoisseurs of the magic of swimming who participated in the 6th 1000 x 1000 swimming festival had a fabulous experience that they will forever carry in their hearts. The attractive event, in which 204 people from three continents – North America, Asia and Europe – participated, was traditionally held on the South Beach in Varna.
The summer charm of 1000 x 1000 conquered swimming fans from eight countries near and far – USA, Indonesia, Belgium, Great Britain, Scotland, Netherlands, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. The ideagenerator for mass swimming is the president of the swimming champion of Bulgaria PSC “Black Sea” – Philippe Rombaut. This summer, swimming for the sixth time the distance of 1000 m,Mr. Rombautonce again gave a lesson in health, super shape and perfect spirit to the participants.
Svetlana Hunt, the founder of the Lucky Hunt Foundation, general sponsor of 1000 x 1000, surprised swimming fans with an avalanche of unforgettable emotions.
Before the start, on an improvised stage on the beach, participants and guests of the event applauded the charming dancers from the “Dance Motion Varna” DC. They presented them with a cocktail of Latin passions, choreographed by champions of the club PolinaKimova and VelizarGeorgiev. The beautiful dancers, who master the nuances of Latin to perfection, imposed a “code red” on South Beach and heated up the already hot atmosphere that was hovering.
To make the memory of their participation even sweeter – the children who swam in the 1000 x 1000 were treated to snow-white, fluffy cotton candy.
Immediately after swimming the distance, all participants made sure that not only in Italy one can eat real pizza. World champion Anatoli Kolev, chef with “golden” hands and unsurpassed in the creation of the irresistible dough delicacy from the Apennines, tempted them with a delicious Margherita pizza.
Each participant also received a beautiful hat with the foundation’s logo on it.
The Lucky Hunt Foundation was established in 2016 for the benefit of stray animals. In the town of Devnya is the shelter of the foundation, where over 300 dogs find a home.There is a clinic equipped with everything necessary for trouble-free care.
Dogs, cats, donkeys and ponies find a home in the farm of the foundation placed in the village of Krumovo.Every summer, Lucky Hunt organizes visits and camps for children, with the aim of teaching the little ones about animal welfare.The main goal of the foundation is to reduce the population of stray animals and build harmonious relations between animals and humans.

Star Hollywood actor Julian Kostov took part in the mass swimming. The resident of Varna, who has a successful career as an actor in the Mecca of cinema and who is manager of Maria Bakalova, is among the most famous swimmers of the champion”Black Sea” Club. This summer, he participated in the 1000 x 1000 together with his teammates from the constant championship relay of Bulgaria from the recent past – Martin Mednikarov and MirolyubAdamov, current vice-chairman of PSC “Black Sea”.
Mednikarov also has an enviable career abroad as an actor and model. Two years after his arrival at Albion, he starred in the feature film All the Devils Men, where he co-starred with Mel Gibson’s son. Mednikarov achieved further great success on the Island – he starred in the hit series Temple with Mark Strong on Sky TV, in the short film Five Stars, as well as in The Dare, Lost and Found in Rome, Royal Blossom.
In the 1000 x 1000, the star swimmers were greeted with joy by their coach of the “Black Sea” team, BorislavGeorgiev. And they promised to swim in a full team next year, together with the head coach of the Black Sea team, Nikola Petrov, who was also part of the super quartet of the Varna club, winning all the medals from the state championships.
The McDonald’s chain is participating in this year’s edition of Swimming Weekend 2022. Lucky children from the 1000 x 1000 raffle will leave with vouchers for a children’s menu, which they can order at any McDonald’s chain restaurant on the territory of Varna. The vouchers are provided by the company Fraport, which is also a new partner from this year. “We know that children are among our main customers, we are happy that we can bring them summer joy”, say the representatives of “McDonald’s”.
Among the partners of the event, which traditionally gives out a bunch of tempting prizes, this season also joins “St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding” JSC. The holding provides lucky raffle winners with vouchers for their dream summer holiday.
